Headed to Costa Rica in less than a week!

Hi, This will be the place to get all the latest news on the team leaving from San Diego's Newbreak Church headed to Linda Vista, Costa Rica to work with Latin American Child Care. We will be working along side of dedicated, passionate men and women who work with the children in that community to inspire them to gain the best education and life skills they can to live the life God has for them. Thirteen of us have been willing to give of our time and resources to serve God and the people of this neighborhood. We are also all honored by all of our friends and family who are partnering with us in prayer and finances to make a difference. The people at Newbreak know and believe that God has called us to trust and and follow Him and that by doing that we will "Shake the Planet". So this is the place where to get the latest planet shaking news!

  1. Hi, I'm Pat Whitson. I'm one of the team from Newbreak planning on going on this mission trip to Costa Rica.

Just fyi, for those of you out there ready and willing to give us and the Costa Rican missionaries and folks your prayer support, each of us on the team has been under a full onslaught of attacks by Satan trying to discourage us or stop us from going on this mission trip. I, for one, who am normally healthy as a horse, was ambulanced from my Dr's office to the ER just this past Wed, June 6th, and then admitted for internal bleeding that had me feeling exhausted and faint 'for no apparent reason'.... I'm home and on the mend now (2 units of blood and 36hrs of IV fluids later), with plans never ever to take any anti-inflam pills for arthritis soreness again.... Ouchy on the stomach lining there! I ended up getting a few tiny ulcer sores out of that not smart meds choice over the past 20yrs, or so, I guess... ANYhoo! The point being that I'm fine now, and my okayness now has to do with Jesus' love, the Holy Spirit's awesome power, and Abba Daddy God's faithfulness and provision, and the love and power of the prayers of other followers of Jesus on my behalf.

Other team members have been under attacks as well, re. health crises, 'stuff' of theirs being stolen or just now 'coincidentally' breaking and needing to be replaced, friends and loved ones of theirs coming down with illnesses that have poor prognoses (making it tough for the mission team members to choose to continue going forward on this mission trip), etc.

We all would sooo appreciate your ongoing prayer support for each of us to make it in well health to Costa Rica, to have safe travels, and for Jesus to have full use of us for His Kingdom purposes while we're in Costa Rica, and beyond... Also pray that the folks and missionaries whom we're going to support and refresh would feel Jesus' Presence and the Holy Spirit's healing touch thru us, broken and defective vessels though we be.... Thank you, all, for your tlc. AND thank You, Lord, that You're already victorious regarding Your plan for us all! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
